TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State continues its spring season by traveling to Tyler, Texas, for two matches. The RiverHawks will meet UT-Tyler at 4 p.m. Tuesday and Tyler Junior College at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

FIRST SERVE
- NSU is 2-2 on the season and is coming off back-to-back wins over Oklahoma Baptist and John Brown. NSU took the doubles point for the first time this season in their home opener and swept all courts at John Brown.
- Chiara Carnelutti is 3-1 this season in singles playing at the No. 3 and No. 4 flights. Maria Popova and Belinda Jayaprakash have each won their previous two matches.
- In doubles, the pairing of Vera Carvalho and Irene Romero is 2-0. Carnelutti and Kristela Vidnere are on a two match win streak.
- The RiverHawks now have their full roster in Tahlequah after COVID-19 travel restrictions impacted the fall semester.
- Head coach Tim McLane is in his first season with the RiverHawks. The OBU victory was the first in his NSU tenure. He was hired Dec. 21 following stops at South Carolina Upstate and Mercer.
- Northeastern State has never met UT-Tyler on the courts. The Patriots are 6-2 this spring and have beat four Great American Conference member schools.
- With the Apaches, NSU has split matches. The programs last met in 2018. They are 5-0 this spring and beat Southern Arkansas and McNeese State in early February. Tyler is ranked No. 1 overall in the junior college ranks.
