TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State continues its spring season by traveling to John Brown Monday at 2 p.m. The RiverHawks and Golden Eagles will play in back-to-back fashion as JBU returns the match in Tahlequah Saturday, March 13.

FIRST SERVE
- NSU is 1-2 on the season and is coming off a 5-2 win over Oklahoma Baptist. NSU took the doubles point for the first time this season in their home opener and the bottom four singles courts clinched.
- Chiara Carnelutti won her second straight match of the season against OBU and Vera Carvalho made her 2021 singles debut sweeping the No. 6 flight. NSU won six sets six games to love.
- The RiverHawks now have their full roster in Tahlequah after COVID-19 travel restrictions impacted the fall semester.
- Head coach Tim McLane is in his first season with the RiverHawks. The Thursday victory was the first in his NSU tenure. He was hired Dec. 21 following stops at South Carolina Upstate and Mercer.
- The RiverHawks have not played the same opponent for back-to-back matches during the dual season since 1999 with Central Oklahoma.
- Northeastern State holds a 4-0 advantage all-time with John Brown. Though just an hour drive, the teams have not met on the tennis courts since April 8, 2000.
- JBU played two this past weekend. They are 0-3Â on the season. The match in Siloam Springs will be the home opener for the Golden Eagles. Additionally, as NSU plays JBU in back-to-back fashion John Brown has two matches between the meetings.
- Fans will be allowed at the outdoor JBU Tennis Courts but are asked to social distance to remain outside the fencing of the courts.
