Five RiverHawks qualify for OGA State Amateur

TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State will be well represented in this year's Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Championship with five men qualifying this week.

Incoming freshman Dominic Stevens qualified Tuesday on Lincoln Park Golf Club's West Course and shot a 1-under par 70.

On Thursday at Lake Hefner, Brayden Strickland was tied for fifth place overall, shooting a 5-under par 67 to qualify.   Bryson Terry will join Stevens and Strickland, shooting a 68, Carlos Gomez qualified with a 69, and Kaden Armstrong hit a 70 to give NSU its fifth representative.

Brett Wilcoxen missed the cut by one at Lake Hefner with a 71 but is an alternate for the State Amateur.

The field of 62 qualifiers will join two exempt players to compete in the State Amateur Championship, scheduled for July 19-21 at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow.
