TAHLEQUAH – Newly ranked at No. 33 in the nation, Northeastern State women's tennis will play in-region matches in Magnolia, Ark. this weekend. The RiverHawks will face hosts Southern Arkansas Saturday at 3 p.m. and Henderson State Sunday at 10 a.m.
The RiverHawks (4-1) are ranked for the first time since the conclusion of the 2019 season, with
Emilia Cosatto checking at No. 9 nationally in singles. The sophomore has claimed two consecutive MIAA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Honors with three wins over ranked foes.
Northeastern State hasn't faced Southern Arkansas since 2020, and it will be their second visit overall to Magnolia. The Muleriders are 2-8 and have dropped six consecutive matches. NSU is the first MIAA team they will see this season.
Henderson State is 4-3 this year; they have yet to face an MIAA team. Like NSU, the Reddies have a 6-1 win over Arkansas Fort Smith. The RiverHawks haven't faced Henderson State since 2012 and are 6-0 all-time against them.
