TULSA – The Northeastern State showed early dominance in their fall opener with five bracket wins and a runner up finish at the Oral Roberts Invitational this past weekend.
Newcomer 
Tatjana Stoll, rolled through the singles flight "A" bracket being UCO's Ali Hodges 6-4, 6-2 in the opening round, then snagging a pair of 6-1, 6-1 wins in the following two rounds for the championship. 
Molly Worden competed in the same bracket and beat UCO's Kirtana Bhat 7-6, 6-2 in the quarterfinal before falling to Oral Robert's Jovana Antonijevic in the semifinal 6-4, 7-5, (10-7).  Worden later fell to Tarleton State's Erika Johnston in the consolation bracket.
In the singles flight "B" bracket, the RiverHawks finished first and third with Karla Tomiac picking up three wins to take the bracket crown.  NSU junior transfer 
Mayra Jovic fell in the quarterfinals 7-5, 6-4, 10-6 before beating ORU in the consolation bracket 6-1, 7-5 for third place.
Betka Gombarova won flight "C" with two wins over Central Oklahoma and then a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Tarleton State for the championship.
Emma Warnock finished as the flight "D" runner up with a 6-4, 6-1 win for UCO's Alison Powers but later lost to Tarleton State 6-4, 6-0, (10-6).
Northeastern State won both of the doubles flights with Stoll and Worden winning three times in flight "A"; 
Easton Parker and Jovic would place fourth in that flight.  In the "B" flight, Gombarova and Tomiac also won three matches and bested UCO 8-3 in the championship.
The RiverHawks will continue individual tournament play this weekend on Sept. 22-23 at Central Arkansas.
