Mayra Jovic and
Tatjana Stoll took singles main draw championships this past weekend for the Northeastern State women's tennis team at the Central Arkansas Invitational.
Of the six teams in the tournament, Northeastern State was the lone non-Division I program in attendance.
Stoll rolled through the top-singles main draw with two wins over Southeastern Missouri and Arkansas State. In singles play this fall, the NSU transfer is 7-0, and won the top-draw at the Oral Roberts Invitational a week ago. Â
Molly Worden in the same singles draw reached the semifinals with a 6-3, 1-6, 12-10 win over Central Arkansas.
Jovic took the singles second flight beating Central Arkansas 6-0, 6-2, and also went 3-0 for the RiverHawks.
In the doubles main draw, Stoll and Worden nearly reached the championship match but fell in a tiebreaker 7-6 (6) to Central Arkansas.
The RiverHawks continue individual tournament play this upcoming weekend to play in the ITA Central Region Championships in Springfield, Mo.
