SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Â The 16
th Northeastern State women's tennis team followed a season opening loss with dominating 8-1 victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday afternoon.
The RiverHawks improve to 1-1 on the year while the Javalinas fall to 0-3.
NSU took control of the match after dominating doubles performances. #1 doubles team of
Tatjana Stoll and
Molly Worden won an 8-4 decision. #2 doubles group of
Karla Tomaic and
Mayra Jovic won 8-0 and #3 group of
Chantal Nosievici and
Easton Parker pulled out an 8-6 victory.Â
In singles action, Stoll won her match 6-0, 6-1 then Jovic clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Freshman
CJ Boydston picked up her first collegiate victory in the rout.
The RiverHawks will return to action on February 6 in a rare home match against UA-Fort Smith. Match time is set for 1:00 pm.
