KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Northeastern State women's tennis team is selected to finish second in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) according to the league's preseason poll that was released on Friday.

Voting was conducted by the MIAA head coaches with the RiverHawks picking up 74 points and two first place tallies.

The RiverHawks are five-time MIAA defending regular season champions, two-time defending tournament champions, and have won its last 47 conference matches.

Central Oklahoma picked up seven of the ten first place votes and 79 points as the preseason pick to win this year's conference title. Southwest Baptist rounded out the top three with 62 points and the remaining first place vote.

Northeastern State will open the season on Feb. 16 at Wichita Falls, Texas for a non-conference match against Midwestern State.
